Opening Remarks
The meeting was officially opened by Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Neftaly Malatjie, at 07:06.
He emphasised that not all Chiefs should be upset with the morning session, as its purpose was to build accountability, leadership discipline, and stronger management oversight within Neftaly’s executive structures.
Discussion Overview
The CEO led the session by posing a series of reflective and accountability-based questions to assess the Chiefs’ engagement with their teams, adherence to policies, and leadership execution.
Key Questions Raised by the CEO
How many of you were having a morning meeting with your team?
How many of you are hosting training with your team?
How many of you documented the minutes?
How many of you follow up and document meetings?
How many of you receive feedback?
How many of you receive feedback in the document or verbally?
How many of us do training with the team and document?
How many of you use a training management policy for the training held?
Do you write to meet with your team?
Is your agenda in the policy?
Who has the agenda for the meeting?
Do you have a training report?
Does anyone have a structure for the training policy?
Do you have a reporting structure to follow the policy?
Do your managers report to you daily?
Do you track your team’s work?
Do you receive their report on Teams?
How many people vote on the report?
Do you discipline your people?
Did you report poor performance?
Does your manager have the authority to make decisions?
Are you a Chief/Owner? (All responded “Yes.”)
Responses
A document containing all responses to the above questions was recorded and kept on file for reference and follow-up.
The CEO made it clear that:
“We do not want to see a Chief writing a report. A Chief checks, verifies, and approves reports for handover.”
This highlighted the importance of Chiefs focusing on leadership oversight rather than administrative tasks.
Special Note
Chief Nancy Mdaka was authorized to publish a meeting on charity and compile all related initiatives under one unified idea for submission.
Findings
From the CEO’s assessment, the following findings were made:
Most Chiefs have not yet demonstrated full readiness or ownership of their responsibilities.
There is evidence that some Chiefs are panicked, uncertain, and afraid to execute their duties confidently.
There is a lack of structured follow-up, documentation, and adherence to Neftaly’s management policies.
Chiefs must transition from reactive to proactive leadership to strengthen departmental performance and accountability.
Conclusion
The Mogoshing Meeting provided a valuable platform for reflection and leadership growth among all Royal Chiefs.
Chiefs were reminded to:
Conduct and document regular team meetings and training sessions.
Adhere to the Training Management Policy and reporting structures.
Focus on oversight, verification, and accountability.
Empower their managers to act effectively within their delegated authority.
The meeting was adjourned at 09:03 with a commitment from all Chiefs to take stronger ownership of their leadership roles and responsibilities.
